Zoe Saldana is the child of Asalia Saldana and Aridio Nazario. She was born in Passaic (New Jersey) on 19th June 1978. Her parents, Aridio and Asalia were both born in Puerto Rico. Her parents raised their daughter within Queens, New York. Her family and she relocated to the Dominican Republic at the age of 10, and there they would spend the next seven year. Zoe noticed a strong interest in performing dances while being abroad. Her first training was with the ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy in order to master ballet as well as many other dance styles.
